Coaching for adults

At HLK, our adult tennis coaching program provides the opportunity to play tennis under the guidance of experienced and enthusiastic coaches in groups suited to your skill level. Adult groups are organized at Meilahti, Tapiola, and Talin Tenniskeskus.

Players are divided into skill groups, where they practice 1-3 times per week for 1-1.5 hours per session. Suitable groups are available for beginners, recreational players, and competitive players. The seasonal program focuses on game-based training, including technical and tactical exercises.

Practice Times for our groups are evenings on weekdays in four-person groups and mornings and afternoons on weekdays in 2-4 person groups. Practice locations are primarily allocated to players from the previous season, with new players filling any available spots.

Information about practice groups:

Most groups have 1.5-hour sessions, but 1-hour groups are also available.
Sessions are generally held at Meilahti Sports Center’s bubble hall, with some groups using the indoor hall.
Evening groups on Mondays and Wednesdays are also held at Talin Tennis Center, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Tapiola Tennis Park.

Adult Coaching Season:


The practice season starts no earlier than August 12, 2024, and ends June 13, 2025. Practices continue throughout the season, excluding certain holidays and breaks (e.g., Christmas). Any changes to practice schedules will be announced on HLK’s homepage. The same groups will continue from the fall season into the spring of 2025 without separate registration.

Note! No practices on the following dates:

  • Independence Day, December 6, 2024
  • Christmas Break, December 23, 2024 – January 1, 2025
  • Easter, April 18 – April 21, 2025
  • May Day, April 30 – May 1, 2025
  • Ascension Day, May 29, 2025

The cost for the entire season is based on the total number of sessions. The number of sessions per season varies depending on practice frequency and holidays.

How to Apply for Coaching:

Registration is done at www.tennisclub.fi.

Players who were part of the coaching program in the 2023-2024 season can register using their existing TennisClub credentials (coaching and season registration).

Help for new players:

  • Log in to TennisClub with your credentials and select “My Information” from the left menu, then choose the appropriate function.
    • Add a new player under your user profile (e.g., if you want to add your child under your account).
    • Apply for another club’s coaching (if you are involved with another club and wish to apply to HLK).

If you do not yet have credentials for TennisClub:

  • Register on TennisClub (www.tennisclub.fi) and create an account.
  • Select “Coaching” from the left menu and then “Season Registration.”
  • Choose the appropriate application form.
