HLK U18 Team

HLK’s competitive training group has changed its name to U18 Team (U18 TEAM) starting from the 2023-2024 season. This name change reflects a broader shift in player pathways that HLK has been preparing in collaboration with HVS over the past season. HVS will also establish a similar team that will train partly with HLK’s team.

Both clubs will have designated head coaches involved. For the 2007-2013 age group, HLK’s head coaches are Timo Koskivuori & Julius Pykälämäki (2012-2013). The team will select a maximum of 16 players for the upcoming season.

The U18 Team is intended for players who have shown enthusiasm for development and demonstrated activity in competing during the past season. Players may not yet be at the very top of their age group, but they are eager to reach that level.

U18 Team Program

  • Winter Season: 3-4 training sessions per week from Tuesday to Friday: in Meilahti and Tapiola in the early evening, 1.5-2 hours per session, including tennis and supplementary training (Minimum 3 times per week).
  • Summer Season: 5 training sessions per week.
  • No training on December 6, 2024, December 23, 2024 – January 1, 2025, April 18-21, 2025, April 30 – May 1, 2025, May 29, 2025, and July 30 – July 27, 2025. Total of 47 training weeks during the season.
  • Training schedules may vary during school holiday weeks.

The team will aim to arrange training camps and camp days together with the HVS team during the season. Information will be provided at parent meetings held in September and January. These will be published in the team’s event calendar and recommended competitions. These are not included in the season fee.

Season Fees

  • 3 training sessions (5.5 hours) per week: €5500
  • 4 training sessions (7 hours) per week: €6700

Submit your application on TennisClub. The application period for the U18 TEAM is from April 8 to May 26, 2024. Decisions on placements will be made by mid-June. Please review our Rules before applying.
