HLK’s Active Afternoon Club
HLK’s afternoon club for 1st and 2nd graders, organized in accordance with the Basic Education Act, takes place at the Meilahti Sports Center located in the Meilahti Sports Park.
The afternoon activities will be available on all regular school days during the 2024-2025 school year from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. We pick up children from Meilahti Elementary School and the English School at the end of the school day. Children from other schools come to the club independently. The club’s activities are supervised by experienced instructors from the Helsinki Lawn Tennis Club.
The club’s program includes a variety of outdoor and indoor sports such as tennis, (outdoor) floorball, badminton, Finnish baseball, gymnastics, and ice skating. During the afternoon, children will have a snack and be given time to do their homework and relax. We utilize the various facilities of the sports center and the surrounding sports park. Children also have the option to take tennis lessons through the club. We ensure that children get to their lessons and return to the club after practice.
The monthly fee for the club is the statutory charge set by the City of Helsinki Education Department: €100 for care until 4:00 PM and €120 for care until 5:00 PM. The club’s activities are regulated by the law on morning and afternoon activities.
